Playing in my cute gown

She fell fast asleep before she went in
All snuggled down, it's all over!Today our sweet little Blake had to get tubes placed in her ears. We have had a pretty rough past month or so. Blake has either had an ear infection or fluid on her ears constantly since her 4 month appointment. She stopped sleeping through the night shortly after that and we have had some "fun"nights ever since. So all this resulted in our decision to have the tubes placed. The anticipation of the procedure was much much worse than the actual thing. I have been really struggling with the idea of handing my child over to perfect strangers so she can have surgery. I know Im not the only one who has ever done this but it was a still big deal to me. We got there a little after 6 this morning and Blake was so happy, she had no idea what we were up to, she was cooing and laughing in the waiting room. (Just a quick side note, people are so intelligent- I realize my daughter has a boyish name that is no suprise but how can you look at a baby in purple and pink pj's with a pink blankie and a heart binkie in here mouth and call her a boy. Every single worker called her "Brian" or "Him" first, Rob and I probably said "this is a little girl" 10 times this morning. Its funny, I feel bad, she needs hair, and I guess a bow even when she is getting surgery:) Anyway we filled out a bunch of paperwork and they did some vitals on her and we put her in this cute little gown and then we just waited for the doctor to arrive. Thank heavens my sweet baby ended up falling asleep before the nurse came to take her into the OR so that helped because she didn't even know, the nurse just took her from me and away she went. 15 min later Dr Bikhazi was out in the waiting room telling us she did great! 5 minutes after that Blakeley was back in her parents arms! She was quite upset for that first 30 min or so and a bit fussy this morning, but since then she has been pretty happy! We will see where this leads us, at least now we know we have fixed that problem, the fun part is getting her back to the good sleeper she once was, stay tuned for that :)...

Poor little thing - I hope she does better for you and her ears won't bother her anymore.
Oh, sweet Boo! We are so glad everything went well! I love the pic of her in her gown. And you and Rob... what cute parents. Blakers is lucky! Hope she continues to be the happy, sweet baby she is!
Oh, it makes me sad! I cannot wait to watch her Karah! I am so excited, I hope she likes me!
I am so sorry to hear that, but hopefully she won't have to deal with ear aches anymore! She is still cute as ever!
You are the cutest mom...I had to do that with Averie too. Recently she had her tonsils out. But don't worry she did a dance for the Doctors on the surgery table before they put her under. And I am pretty sure the Blakely is way to gorgeous for her to be a boy. People are GENIUS....LOL
Poor Babe! I am glad that all went well. She looked darling in her little gown... but how could she not?
Dr. Bikhazi did tubes in Krews ears to. He is fabulous! and that 30 min. after when they are coming out is the worst! You will see, it will be all worth it, when she does not get another infection. Good job for being strong through it all!
i almost flagged you for that child pornography.
